Your Social Security Disability amount is based on your work history and earnings
My Brother is currently receiving disability and also works part-time. He is 60 years old. He would like to quit working. Will he be able
to collect more money on disability?
Unfortunately, I have to say that the simple answer to this is no. The amount he receives in Social Security Disability was set by his earnings prior to becoming disabled. If he is receiving SSI, which is a need-based disability benefit, his benefit may increase.
