If you receive Social Security Disability are you allowed to supplement your income?
Social Security Disability does allow some work activity, and provided that you stay under certain work monetary limits you may continue to receive your Social Security Disability benefits.
The monetary work limit is referred to as SGA (current SGA earnings limit to receive disability) and if you do not earn over that amount your Social Security Disability benefit will not be suspended or terminated. You do need to notify the Social Security Administration of any work activity, however, because Social Security must evaluate all work activity. A failure to do this can potentially result in the assessment of an overpayment.
For more detailed information about the affect of work activity upon your entitlement to Social Security Disability benefits, contact your local Social Security office.
